ARRL Salt Lake County ARES User Agency Policy ARRL Salt Lake County ARES exists for the purpose of providing emergency backup radio communications by its FCC-licensed Amateur Radio Operators to user agencies or the community in a major disaster or area-limited emergency. Enrolling members may select three preferred ways to serve, one of which must be ARRL Salt Lake County ARES. The other two may be user agencies and/or special kinds of service. ARRL Salt Lake County ARES provides its members specialized training required to use their Amateur Radio skills for emergency backup communications and a means of call up and deployment to do so in an organized way. ARRL Salt Lake County ARES recognizes that when members elect to serve a specific user agency, that agency may require special training of them because of the agency’s volunteer or operational policies. ARRL Salt Lake County ARES supports and operationally implements any letters or memoranda of agreement between the ARRL national organization and recognized national agencies or relief-giving organizations. Finally, ARRL Salt Lake County ARES expects its members at all times to refrain from any activity which may be in violation of federal, state, or local law. This is a condition of membership in ARRL Salt Lake County ARES. |
